Help change a child’s life by providing him or her with a quality Catholic education. Families at Our Mother of Sorrows and Saint Ignatius of Loyola understand the value of education and contribute to their children’s tuition. However, the average household income in the neighborhoods around the schools was under $20,000 in the year 2000 and many area families cannot afford to send their children to our schools without help. Each year our schools require over $390,000 in support to continue educating our children. All gifts are tremendously appreciated. How to Give To make a donation now click on the “Donate” button to the right. Consider sponsoring the full cost of a student’s education for a year ($4,150), half a year ($2,075), or one month ($415). The student will receive a scholarship, and sponsors will receive updates about the student and be invited to meet him or her at a school event. Businesses that pay Pennsylvania Taxes can make a 100-70% tax-deductible donation through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit. This is an easy and economical way for businesses to make a HUGE impact on children’s lives. United Way regulations prohibit donations to schools, but please consider designating your next UWSEPA donation to the Our Mother of Sorrows Soup Kitchen, donor choice #46909, or the Saint Ignatius of Loyola Food Pantry, donor choice #46978. These outreach programs are both a life-line for those in need, and important components in the schools’ culture of service. Volunteer or donate supplies or materials such as classroom supplies, computers, or skilled repair work. In 2008-2009 volunteers donated over 161 hours per month in academic and administrative support. See if a matching gift program from your employer or former employer could double or triple your gift! Contribute securities and avoid paying capital gains taxes. Remember Our Mother of Sorrows or Saint Ignatius of Loyola in your estate or consider a planned gift that will provide you with income, a current tax-benefit, and help insure that OMS and SI will remain strong educational options for future generations. Contribute a portion of your purchases to school students by participating in programs like Box-Tops for Education or Target Take Charge of Education.
